GB Around the world

The Girls' Brigade is a world-wide big family.
There are GB all around the world.
Here is a map showing those countries that have GB.

GB Crest

The GB Crest can be remembered in a poem :-

In the centre a Cross,
the symbol of Christ and his church,
Below it a Lamp,
that our light may shine upon the world,
Above it a Crown,
that we may own Christ as our King,
Behind it all a Torch,
the flame of Christ's living spirit and our devotion to him.

GB Songs

THE GIRLS’ BRIGADE SONG

Our Girls’ Brigade shall ever
For Christ and service stand
He only is our Master,
we yield Him heart and hand
The heart with love discerning
To know His holy will
The hand to do His bidding
and His commands fulfill
Chorus :-
For Christ and service,
The watch will loudly ring
For Him we live and labour, our Master,
Our Master, Saviour King

The Word of God our guide book
Directs us day by day
A lamp unto our footsteps,
Alight upon our way
It shows to us the Father
And tells us of His home
It points to us the Saviour
Whose gentle call is Come

O Jesus our great Captain,
Our best we bring to Thee
Our girlhood youthful harvest,
Thine, Always Thine to be
In thought and speech and action,
In daily tasks well done
In all we do for others,
We owe the Lord alone

GIRLS’ BRIGADE VESPER 1

Captain Divine, our work is now complete
And when we part, we gather at Thy feet.
To give our labours and ourselves to thee,
Without reserve, Thy cause to serve,
O Captain hear us as we pledge to be,
True to our creed in thoughts and deeds.

GIRLS’ BRIGADE VESPER 2

Captain, we now our meeting close
Be with us through the coming night
And when we wake from our repose
To greet another morning’s light
Do Thou our waking moments bless
And helps us ever to express
The spirit of the Girls’ Brigade
To work and play and live for Thee

Who we are ?

2nd Kota Kinabalu Girls Brigade Company was established in 1978 within the Basel Church of Malaysia Kota Kinabalu congregration. The company was registered in 1979 officially. Since then, it has been training girls from all backgrounds, races and denominations to be a better person in their womanhood. The company has produced quite a number of Pionner Pins holders in the country, not to mention that these ladies were also the first to receive such highest national award in the state of Sabah.

We meet in Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of Sabah. The state of Sabah is one of the 13 states to form Malaysia. Situated in the Northern part of Borneon Island, the third largest island in the world, Sabah is fortunate to miss most of the typhoons paths across South China Sea, hence our name as "The Land Below the Wind".
